Bonfire night at Hazel End was a subdued affair, as much as we love a firework display, we aren’t overly keen on the cold weather. We planned a cosy night in celebrating Firework night with tasty treats and drinks, reminiscing about Firework nights gone by and watching the local displays from the vantage point of our beautiful sky bar, that said, a few of us were courageous enough to brave the elements to enjoy a sparkler.
There was a definite air of excitement at Hazel End as we donned our coats and gloves to head outside. All around us were the sounds of rockets and the sky was alight with a myriad of colour, we watched in awe. The fireworks around us made our sparklers seem pretty tame but we had a lot of fun signing our names in the air, something that we all remember doing when we were younger, it made us smile.
Sparklers sparkled, we headed inside to the warmth of our cinema room where we indulged in a tipple to warm us up, some tradition bonfire night snacks and a bit of light entertainment.
It wasn’t a big fancy affair but for us it was perfect.
