Residents at Hazel End have been given the opportunity to choose their room on the ground floor community, a welcome move to their dream rooms complete with patio doors for them to enjoy some socially distanced time in the garden.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Hazel End residents have spent lockdown together on the middle floor community to keep them as safe as possible, however, as restrictions started to lift, team members spent time with residents planning their move downstairs. Residents were offered the choice of staying on the middle floor or moving to the bottom floor and deciding which room they liked the best.

It would be usual for residents to choose their room before they move into a new home, however, lockdown restricted that.

The residents and team jumped at the chance to support the recent move, recognising that resident’s choice should be promoted in all aspects of their life in the home.

It was rewarding to see residents sitting in their new rooms, surrounded by their belongings, and enjoying some fresh air with a smile.
