At Hazel End we are a community of animal lovers. We get very excited when we have animal guests and love to make a fuss of the creatures that visit. We have been quite spoiled in the animal department recently, first we were able to watch the ducklings hatch and take part in their care and now we have adopted guinea pigs.

Guinea pigs make great pets. They have different personalities and are very vocal, making it easy to know their individual identities and get to know them. They are fun to play with and very entertaining.

Our guinea pigs are called Coffee and Biscuit, quite apt for us, we are all quite partial to a coffee and a biscuit or three. They are wonderful, so tame, and friendly. They get very excited when we walk past their hutch and call out to us for attention.

I haven’t kept a pet for many years now and I’d forgotten the joy that can be gained from them. It is just so relaxing to sit down, feet up in front on the television and with a little friend on your lap and it is so funny watching them scurry around, looking for mischief.

We are very grateful to Alan and his family for bringing Coffee and Biscuit into our lives, rest assured they will be well loved and spoiled rotten.
